Sadly, Adam and Eve failed to realize the beauty of God’s plan. They allowed the serpent to make them believe that God was withholding something from them. In their expectation to “Be like God,” they lost what they already had, the very image of God.
The same deception continues presently. The devil has not changed his tactics since that first encounter in Eden. Like Eve, we are often tempted to take “just one peep” at what God has forbidden to reason, to negotiate or to second-guess God’s word. But every act of compromise often starts with that one look.
The lesson for every Christian is clear: Do not negotiate with the enemy. The safest place to dwell is always in obedience to God’s Word. Obedience remains the key to fellowship, triumph and dominion.
