is a fruit that comes from the Graviola tree. Other names for guyabano (name known in the Philippines) include: guanábana (Spanish), graviola (Portuguese), pawpaw (in Brazil), corossol (French), soursop (English), and custard apple (English). The scientific name is annona muricata.
I used to hate this fruit when I was a child because of its exotic look and it's kind of sour taste. My mother keeps on serving me this fruit everytime they picked some of it, that grows in our backyard. She told me that it is very nutritious fruit and really good as vitamins in the body. But I keep on refusing cos I was scared by its spiky appearance. It looks like puffer fish to me! LOL!! source
Despite its exotic look, Did you know that this fruit contains Vitamin B & C, Iron, Riboflavin, Phosphorus, Thiamine, Calcium, Carbohydrates, Niacin, and Fiber, and.... How that???? hahahah...
Apart from these benefits, Guyabano can also relieve stomach distress, pain, cough, asthma, and fever. And research study shows that this fruit has anti-cancer elements that can attack and destroy malignant cells. WOW!..
Even myself was surprised by the nutrients inside this fruit and the benefit you can get from eating it. Could you just imagine?
