Change, so that your reality changes too.
Hello, friends in this community. Today, I’d like to talk about stagnation. As long as you continue to inhabit the same “persona,” you will remain stuck in the same reality. If you desire more money, better relationships, or greater success in your entrepreneurial ventures, the first step is to address the root cause behind the external conditions you currently see in your world.
Often, we make the mistake of trying to change the world at the level of form, without addressing the invisible causes that create these effects. As Neville Goddard pointed out: “When you change your consciousness, the world you see will change radically as a consequence.” In other words, a different state of consciousness reveals an entirely different world.
Therefore, you come to realize that the work isn’t about doing more, struggling harder, making greater sacrifices, or trying to alter the world at the level of form—approaches I know many of you have tried (we all have)—but rather about reaching the root that is generating these consequences in your world. Neville suggests that action accounts for less than 10% of the change; true transformation occurs in the realm of causes. It happens when you examine the persona you have adopted—the one creating your current circumstances—and begin to strip away the layers that have kept you anchored in that reality, bound to that specific persona.
So, today we’re going to talk about this, and I want you to fully grasp it—because a common mistake people make is trying to do more, change more, or alter their habits and behaviors, all while continuing to operate from the same mindset as their "old" persona. This means that as long as you keep thinking from the perspective of that old persona, you will inevitably keep falling back into the same patterns.
That is why, no matter how hard you try to do things differently, test new strategies for your business, or change your habits, something always happens that pulls you back to your starting point—back to where you began—causing you to regress. And why does this happen? Because the persona you are acting from—the identity through which you are operating—has not changed.
To achieve this, we must first work on dismantling your previous persona. We will explore several points, but I want you to first understand that the identity you currently hold is what leads to the results you see in your life. For instance, if you were to step into the persona of a music icon—let’s say, Michael Jackson—you would suddenly perceive a wealth of opportunities for musical success. You might find inspiration for a hit song in something as simple as a casual conversation or the sound of a whistling kettle in the background.
This wouldn't happen because you are forcing yourself to act a certain way; rather, it’s because the identity you’ve adopted—in this case, that of Michael Jackson—would naturally align all your senses, attitudes, skills, and habits with the essence of that person. The same principle applies to your own life: if you want different results, you must first adopt a different identity. Right now—and it is crucial that you grasp this—there are a million opportunities passing right before you that you fail to see, and which you are unable to seize, simply because you have not yet become the person capable of doing so.
Imagine it as a river that is constantly flowing—always flowing. Picture a container, with you positioned underneath, receiving all that water. If your container is tiny, there will come a point where it can no longer hold any more water. In that case, you need to create a larger container to accommodate more—but this doesn’t mean that life isn’t flowing toward you, or that opportunities and abundance aren’t coming your way.
It simply means that your current "character"—the persona you are embodying—is not capable of sustaining or receiving that abundance. So, you might ask yourself: is it possible that things aren't failing to reach you, but rather that you—through the persona you are currently living as—are actually blocking that abundance? Are you preventing it from reaching you? You begin to realize that the primary task is to change that persona—to change the vessel you are using to receive.
Understand this: the real work isn't about trying to force a change in your habits through sheer willpower, sacrifice, or struggle—by simply "doing more"—because you’ve already tried that, and it hasn’t worked. The real work lies in peeling back layers. To break free from this persona, you must first identify the behaviors, habits, and beliefs about yourself that are keeping you stuck in it.
Before something new can arrive, you must let go of everything you are still holding onto. So, starting today, who is it that you no longer choose to be? Perhaps you no longer choose to be the person who procrastinates, or the person who constantly puts things off until later. Maybe you decide to stop being the perfectionist who demands the absolute maximum from yourself, and instead, you begin to commit to doing what you said you would do. From that point on, I want you to first identify the behaviors that you know are taking you further away from your goal, and second, make a pact with yourself: "I am no longer this person."
