Trips to Dolo, a town above Brenta, are associated with not very fun events. A year and a half ago, I went to Dolo to visit Señor Cerizola, who was being treated in the hospital. Then it was even sadder... Senior Renzo died, he was seriously ill, he underwent four heart operations... the treatment did not help... alas, that good man was gone... he passed away...
The last time I went here was already with my problems. I had a repeat mammogram and ultrasound of the mammary glands. Fortunately, everything is fine, there is no reason to worry. Even though I was under good stress for two weeks, not knowing what to expect from the re-examination.

Поїздки до Доло, містечка над Брентою зв'язані з не дуже веселими подіями. Півтори роки тому я їздила в Доло відвідувати сеньйора Черізолу, який лікувався в лікарні. Потім було ще сумніше... Сеньйор Ренцо помер, він важко хворів, переніс чотири операції на серці... лікування не допомогло... нажаль,тієї доброї людини не стало... він відійшов у засвіти...
Ще крайнього разу я їздила сюди вже зі своїми проблемами. Я робила повторну мамографію та УЗД молочних залоз. На щастя все добре, немає причин для занепокоєння. Хоч два тижні я була в доброму стресі, не знаючи чого очікувати від повторного обстеження.

Last Wednesday morning I saw that he was all red, sweating to such an extent that the bed was as wet as if half a bucket of water had been poured into it. In addition, the urine collection bag was empty. She urgently called his son Stefano. And then she began to consult Bepi to help him until the ambulance arrived. She changed the bedding on the bed, wiped her body with a wet towel and put on a dry, clean T-shirt. Then she gave antipyretic medicine. In my opinion, I am not a doctor, the urinary tract infection has returned again. Bepi was admitted to the hospital in Dolo. We have a hospital in Mirano. This hospital is located close to Spinea, it is better to get there. But it is full.
And so I'm in Dolo!

І знову доля повернула мене в Доло. Сеньйор Джузеппе захворів. Вранці минулої середи я побачила, що він весь червоний, спітнілий до такої степені, що ліжко було мокре якби в нього вилили пів відра води. До того ж мішок для збору сечі був порожній. Терміново зателефонувала його синові Стефано. А потім почала поратися коло Бепі, щоб надати йому допомогу до приїзду швидкої. Поміняла постіль на ліжку, пообтирала тіло мокрим рушником та одягала суху чисту майку. Потім дала жаропонижаючі ліки. На мій погляд, я не медик, знову вернулася інфекція сечовивідних шляхів. Бепі поклали в лікарню в Доло. Біля нас є лікарня в Мірано. Ця лікарня знаходиться від Спінеї близько,туди краще добиратися. Але вона переповнена.
І так я в Доло!

And one of them is the Brenta embankment with its cafes and bars, which are often located in old mills. There were once many mills in Dolo, as the water power of the Brenta River was used in the driving mechanisms.

В якомусь із дописів я описувала історичні подробиці про Доло, тож повторюватись не буду. Єдине, що скажу, що це мальовниче містечко відоме своїми красивими місцями. І одне з них це набережна Бренти з її кафе та барами, які часто розташовані в старих млинах. Млинів колись в Доло було безліч так як використовувалася в привідних механізмах сила води річки Брента.

In Dolo is the oldest and only workshop in Veneto, Squero, where boats and large barges were made and repaired. The canal between Padua and Venice was of great importance. Goods were transported along it, passenger transportation took place. The difference between Padua and Venice is almost 12 meters high. This is a wise engineering solution, according to the idea of Leonardo Da Vinci, it was overcome with the help of oval locks, which were located in Dolo, Mira, Stra and Moranzani. Excursion tours are now being held along the canal from Padua to Venice. And bridges are being built. It's worth seeing.

В Доло знаходиться найстаріша єдина у Венето майстерня Скверо, де виготовляли та ремонтували човни та великі барки.. Канал між Падовою та Венецією мав велике значення . По ньому перевозили товари , відбувалися пасажирські перевезення. Перепад між Падовою та Венецією у висоті майже 12 метрів. Це мудрим інженерним рішенням, за ідеєю Леонардо Да Вінчі було подолано за допомогою овальних шлюзів, які були розташовані в Доло, Міра, Стра і Моранцані. Зараз проводяться екскурсійні тури по каналу від Падови до Венеції. А мости розводяться. Це варто побачити.

It's nice to watch the wonderful scenery while sipping fragrant coffee or tasting ice cream, of which there are so many different varieties that the eyes run wild! By the way, the bell tower towering over the city resembles the bell tower in Venice on St. Mark's Square, only much lower. Every day I come to the Brent Canal to sit in silence and admire the panorama, watch the people and listen to the music of the water falling from the crimson wheel...
So a week has passed... tomorrow Bepi will check in from the hospital and go home.

Чудові краєвиди приємно спостерігати, попиваючи пахучу каву чи смакуючи морозиво, якого тут безліч різних ґатунків, що аж очі розбігаються! Доречі, дзвіниця, що височить над містом нагадує дзвіницю у Венеції на площі Сан Марко, тільки набагато нижча. Кожен день я приходжу до каналу Брента щоб посидіти в тишині та помилуватися панорамою, поспостерігати за людьми та послухати музику води, що спадає з малинового колеса...
Так минув тиждень... завтра Бепі вписується з лікарні і їде додому.
