Happy Monday, friends of Hive Open Mic! This week's theme is Our Virtue, and it is undoubtedly interesting, as it describes a great capacity of human beings to provoke with their actions and mentality a positive effect on themselves and others; it is definitely an acquired gift.
Today I want to present a cover of the song El Problema, by the Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, from the album Santo Pecado, published in 2002. I relate this song to the theme because I believe that patience is a great virtue, however this character goes through much suffering before the reality of not being reciprocated, in that sense endure and lament are not virtues; they are not even attitudes that help us overcome adverse situations. Maintaining the integrity and determination to move forward and think that there is a life ahead would be the right way to go, and to achieve that we would have to cultivate self-esteem.
I admire the way Arjona gives a philosophical touch to most of his songs and this is not far behind. I hope you enjoy this acoustic guitar version.
¡Feliz lunes, amigos de Hive Open Mic! La temática de esta semana es Nuestra Virtud, y es sin dudas interesante, pues describe una gran capacidad del ser humano de provocar con sus acciones y mentalidad un efecto positivo en sí mismo y en los demás; es definitivamente un don adquirido.
El día de hoy les quiero presentar un cover de la canción El Problema, del cantautor guatemalteco Ricardo Arjona, perteneciente al álbum Santo Pecado, publicado en el año 2002. Esta canción la relaciono con la temática porque creo que la paciencia es una gran virtud, sin embargo este personaje pasa por mucho sufrimiento ante la realidad de no ser correspondido, en ese sentido soportar y lamentarse no son virtudes; ni siquiera son actitudes que nos ayuden a superar las situaciones adversas. Mantener la entereza y tener la determinación de salir adelante y pensar que hay una vida por delante sería el camino correcto, y para lograr eso habría que cultivar la autoestima.
Admiro la manera cómo Arjona le da un toque filosófico a la mayoría de sus canciones y esta no se queda atrás. Espero que disfruten de esta versión en guitarra acústica.
