People [I] need to build [my] creative businesses on HIVE -
It's not enough to just hype on social media to hope that more people join.
We already have a bunch of people -- writers, artists, musicians, etc.
https://kk.org/thetechnium/1000-true-fans/
If HIVE is a tool, that is used in pursuit of 1000 true fans, then it addresses all of those issues mentioned above.
It's like:
Mailchimp is used as a tool to send out newsletters.
HIVE can be a tool for incentivized audience engagement while sharing developmental processes behind / involved directly within creative work.
The idea that we need to be getting more HIVE followers from the pool of people who are already on HIVE is silly, and non-productive.
The more people who use HIVE as a tool -- and not as an end product, the more incentive they will have to invest and upvote to reward engagement in their communities, and with their following, --
And since their business exists beyond HIVE [ETH and USD for example] - That is where they can derive their income, and audience members.
Then it becomes about --
What unique value proposition are you as a content creator offering on HIVE that is not being offered anywhere else -- and thus incentivizes engagement on your HIVE blog, and consequentially / as a byproduct / or directly -- in your HIVE communities?
Then you get a transitive sort of property where the audiences that are cultivated from one creative transfer by communities toward others.
.:.
I don't think people are thinking broadly enough.
It's not enough to want more upvotes from people with more stake, or to get more HIVE followers, or even to abuse by self-upvoting.
The rewards for that sort of game // those sort of games // are not sufficient,
And then we run into all of these problems like abuse, and circle jerking, and then peopel complaining that newbies don't get enough love. and all of this.
Newbies, and Vets, need to be building businesses and audiences, using the platform, -- building businesses / audiences that are bigger than HIVE.
Using HIVE as a component of that larger business.
Then it won't matter who is getting upvotes or not -- that's secondary. That's a neat bonus way to accumulate an investment fund to cash in on the next time we get a sustained +$1.
But we're never going to get there unless there is a cultural shift toward using HIVE as a toolset for building community engagement - with a unique value proposition that content creators are providing to their audiences [which are larger than HIVE.]

EX:
Writers.
Kindle Direct Publishing.
Ebooks.
-- 1000s of people read a single book, and all there needs to be is a link in the back to a discord / hiveonboard -- and a strong value proposition to be involved in the creation of the next project, or to experience the research that goes into the next project directly --
Something that incentivizies engagement, / comments / votes on posts pertaining direcTLY TO YOUR content.
This is the level up.
