Indiegogo is for non-profits.
Kickstarter is for profits.

They don't let you do NPO on Kickstarter.

Indiegogo has a specific platform that focuses exclusively on promoting NPO based grassroots funding.

I just had a bit of a ranty response to this and came up with a cool example:

You know all of these tulmultuous riotious protest times that are happening right now.

An industrious Hot Dog Slanger who is down for the Cause, could have an NPO fundraiser / mutual aid fundraiser on Indiegogo, and then support the cause that way,

Use that money to support their work once they have immersed themselves in whatever activity they are doing.

Something like Riot Dogs, or whatever in PDX came to mind. I heard about them down in Santa Cruz, from my friend.

So once you've got twitter buzz and word of mouth, and there is some sort of controversy, or whatever - then you strike with an NPO campaign.

Something like - Give us money so we can sell hotdogs, collab with a person like Crim on an edgy broadcasting network, and we will give shoutouts, or whatever for your protestor messages, or you can vote for who we interview next, or whatever.

Then, you get some cash.

That cash helps you meet your goals and facilitates expansion so you can continue to serve people in this vague / mutual aid / profit / not for profit zone.

We give food to people who need it, but we'll take your money, and your donations, and you can give us money here on this indiegogo page.

Then, when the dust settles and biden becomes president, you have a consolidation move, and turn into a food truck in PDX.

Everybody remembers your hot dog distro, and will back your campaign, and you saved money, and now you're near and dear to all of the liberals in that town, and they go to you for all of their hot dog foods forever more, because you have ideological street cred, and trust against the capitalistic system -- but it's cool man, here's $5 cause I remember what you did, and we've got you.

Kickstarter is a bit different, because there are people just on there looking for projects as well, They just like to be cutting edge audience members. Indiegogo, may have something like that, but it's not as extensive.
