I wasn't trying to be rude to you.

And I am not really talking about you, because you have a lot of stake.

I'm mostly referring to my own experience in joining Steemit, not too long ago, and how my attitudes have changed about HIVE since then.

R0n is a nice guy. A lot of people have been really helpful in the community in helping me learn.

I didn't hate you -- I don't even know you.

The show is not my show - so my criticisms are not that valid -- I got the idea that you and the hustlers were interested in helping people learn how to better monetize their passions.

So, I hoped that you would have spent more time with each person, sort of like coaching, or suggesting, or brainstorming for how they could take their projects to the next level.

That would have been more interesting to me than what was happening on the show.

But, as it's been pointed out, it's not my show.

I guess I was just feeling opinionated during that time, and felt like sharing my thoughts. It wasn't personal.

I'm not sure if I'm a very warm welcome person.

I am most definitely a passionate person about ideas that are really interesting to me.

What interests me a lot these days is how people [myself and anyone else who is interested in doing so] -- can use HIVE for its maximum value.

And I think that the standard story of "HIVE gives you rewards for posting your content" Sort of undersells the value of the platform, and sets n00bs -- people who are new and don't have a lot of stake, and are here to figure out how to get a little side cash -- people like me, when I first came to the platform.

Sets these people up for some disappointment.

And I see a lot of conversations about how 'we need to pay attention to these people to reward their posts'.

And complaints from other users -- 'about how the people with stake always vote for the same people and the rewards don't get spread around'.

And I think these are both talking about the wrong ideas.

If I'm a person with 1000 HP Stake, and I am posting every day, trying to get good content or whatever -- I may or may not make money on HIVE.

It depends ENTIRELY on whether or not someone with a higher stake or a curation trail notices my work, and then upvotes me.

The Post Up program seeks to fix this problem, by bringing to attention / curating / highlighting posts, so people will notice them and then follow their work, -- so eventually these people can get some more curation and higher regular rewards for their work.

This isn't a bad thing. It makes sense. I'm not SUPER PASSIONATE IN LOVE WITH IT.

Because I think that if these people were to take an attitude of making 'projects' not 'posts' -- and monetizing / seeking audiences outside of HIVE -- while also posting on HIVE -- then the whole ecosystem would be better off, and those people would be better off, and they would have more money, and there would be less pressure for rewards on HIVE, and more people staking and building their own audiences on HIVE.

It's a different sort of posture, that I'm trying to figure out and share with people.

When I am figuring out an idea, it's easiest for me to see it and project it elsewhere onto others -- to externalize it.

Which makes me a critical person -- and ends up rubbing people the wrong way.

EX:

I HATE YOUR SHOW, YOU SHOULD BE DOING THIS BECAUSE THIS IS THE REAL PROBLEM.

Except, I'm usually pretty careful not to say stuff like "I hate your show" -- because I don't hate your show.

And I try not to say "You should be doing this" because I know people don't like that language.

I basically think that if the people who already were onboarded to HIVE and using HIVE to monetize their creative pursuits took themselves a LITTLE BIT MORE SERIOUSLY -- as in saw themselves as creative business people who made projects -- not just making posts on HIVE to make a little extra cash -- then there would be a drastic change in the way things operate.

I think it would be a net positive experience.I sort of intuited that HIVE Hustlers and Post Up -- were sort of looking at that problem, and trying to find a solution. -- which they are.

Again I tried to be polite about it - but I'm not that polite of a person sometimes.

Also, not everything needs to be sexy. Children need books too. That's rad that you have that experience.
