I powered up because I think the project will appreciate in value, and because HODLing is easier with an extended power down stake. And, because I can derive value from my account while it is being staked.

The only real downside is that when the project moons, the stake will do its job, and stabilize the release of coins, which will spread selling out over a period of 3 months instead of attempting to catch the peak in one shot like holding a liquid HIVE balance would enable.

The advantage is that you get to build up the community with a slightly more sincere long term position due to the rules governing power downs, and derive the benefits of having a larger stake.

I would suppose that if HIVE is valuable overall, the value derived from staking ought to be higher in total, than the value possible in scalping the moon.

I agree with you about the imaginary fish diversity.

I'm going to be putting my earnings from the stake into ETH, because ETH is another system that can monetize work for artists, and ETH 2.0 is coming out in July.

I suspect that the rising tide affects all ships, sort of thing, and HIVE just has the most utility for me, which is why I made HIVE my primary investment.

I would say that my investment needs to include ETH as well, and that my investment ought to include BTC.

I personally am interested to see what sort of monthly rewards are available for holding a higher stake. Curious to know if it's a meaningful form of basic income.

I'm also curious what sort of developmental iterations the Dev team here on HIVE is able to execute over the next year.
