I've seen a couple of different variants:

• YCH Comics -- Your OC or Avatar in Warcraft has Sex with another OC / Avatar / Character -- so the artwork sort of facilitates a fantasy foundation for the fantasy between two people. -- This sort of thing would probably work really well with wealthy Roleplayers. -- They actually have a site, that I've forgotten at the moment, which is entirely focused on RPers who have different OCs, and they state different sex preferences and then RP fuck each other according to their preferences. There are multiple relationships that go on between people, and they collect artwork to consummate their relationships, and give more life to their characters.

That's a whole market.

• CHOYA Comics - sort of like audience involved as it goes along -- choose this action, characters do this. As a variant, I've seen -- 'uncover the story in the order you choose'.

• Ad Lib comics, which are sort of what I've been doing for a little while.

"Give me a sex preference, a fantasy race, two goddesses and a porn star -- pay me $100 for each contribution, and I will make a thing that combines all of these elements."

Then turn that into a project which can be levereaged elsewhere -- that's what Liberty | Death was. -- another project of mine.

Another example of this is sort of like -- in Alice -- how the Queen looks a certain way, and the Cat looks a certain way -- these were paid for by people in the beginning of the project during the character design phase.

And now -- once the project is done, I'm doing this -- last call for director slots.

There are 3 director slots that need to be fulfilled from the kickstarter -- but now is like the most compelling time for the director slots, because the project is 7 months mature, and all of the artwork is practically done -- so it's really easy to be like -- oh oh, i would pay to have these characters doing this in this scene.

And the consolation for working within the context of the project instead of doing their own OCs, is that they get to have their contributions in print.

Which is something I don't see anyone else doing -- except MAYBE this guy.

He called these type of commissions something particular, that I forget at the moment.

It's like when you have a fandom and the people make something that formally exists within the fandom.

Like -- There's a word for it.

So, if someone wanted me to do like a painting of their OC hooking up with some river nymphs, that wouldn't count -- that's not what I'm offering.

But if someone wanted me to paint a scene preluding to Alice and the Queen on Trial -- where she's playing some croquet, with flamingoes with cocks for beaks, and a flock of them ends up fucking alice, and the queen gets jealous again -- that would be Canon.

It's a Canon Commission.

Next time, I think I'll hold off on the Kickstarter for the actual project, until this point -- that way when the most amount of buzz is being generated for the project, I'm the farthest developed possible, and ready to take on as many commissions / Director Slots -- as possible.

I think that way the amount of value being offered in sort of 'design a part of your own graphic novel -- based on this fandom // public domain IP that you already love // and the project is already nearly done except for your contribution -- type thing.. I think that will bring in some more serious cash, in addition to the regulars -- who just want a copy of the project // print / digital.

That will be like a year from now, probably, but it's a good thing to keep in mind, and one of those critical results of this sort of experiment.
