For today's Hour of Study, I painted an Elvgren pin up.
This one above here is actually my favorite, because the colors aren't too dark on the edges, and the lines look like they are drawn well.
In my opinion, the piece went downhill after this, and in order to salvage, within an hour, I ended up going more for a cartoon simplified curves hoolah girl type painting.
There is a lot to learn here about color -- a bunch of the colors that were used were extremely saturated. Moreso than I usually use. I am also not that familiar with using multiple colors in a painting. I usually use a limited color pallette.
I'll probably do some more Pin up work by this artist in the future, until I feel like I have a better hold on what he's doing.
