Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great and welcome to another Hive Learners post.

If you look at social media in Pakistan, something new seems to be trending almost every day, whether it鈥檚 a political issue, a meme, a celebrity, a cricket match, or something that leaves us wondering how it suddenly went so viral. However, if I were asked which trending topic in Pakistan currently holds my genuine interest, my answer would be crypto. Crypto isn't new, yet public interest in it remains consistently visible in Pakistan. There is significant discussion on social media, particularly regarding Bitcoin, Binance, and various crypto-related projects and rewards. Even today, topics like "Binance Points" are appearing in Pakistan鈥檚 X (formerly Twitter) trends, demonstrating that crypto-related subjects are capturing the attention of the Pakistani online audience.

What makes this trend particularly interesting to me is that I have recently been trying to understand crypto and trading myself. Previously, whenever I heard about crypto, I assumed it was simply about buying Bitcoin and waiting for the price to rise. However, once I began to study the subject more seriously, I realized it is far more complex. There are numerous concepts to grasp, such as charts, price action, support and resistance levels, volume, stop-loss, risk-reward ratios, position sizing, and market psychology. Initially, it all seems quite confusing; looking at a chart, one might feel the price is about to go up, only for the market to move in the exact opposite direction the very next moment. That is when I realized that simply jumping into something based on a trend is likely not a sound strategy.

The crypto trend taught me one crucial lesson: there is a difference between going viral and having real value. Just because a coin, token, or project is being widely discussed on social media doesn't necessarily mean it is a good investment. People might talk about something simply because it is interesting, because an influencer mentioned it, or merely because it has gone viral. This doesn't apply only to crypto; almost every trend on social media follows this pattern. A video suddenly garners millions of views, and then everyone starts creating videos in that same style. In the crypto world, however, this can be far more dangerous because financial stakes are involved.

Another thing that has really impressed me is how crypto has taught me the importance of patience. Initially, one wants everything to happen quickly, learning fast, trading fast, and making a quick profit. However, the more I try to understand this field, the more I realize that haste is perhaps one of the biggest mistakes one can make. Especially if you are a beginner, understanding the market first is far more important. In my opinion, trading simply because a particular coin is trending today is not enough. I am currently in the learning phase myself; I do not claim to have fully mastered crypto or trading. The reality is that the more I learn, the more I realize how much there is yet to discover, and perhaps that is the best part of this journey.

This trend has taught me something about social media as well. We often assume that whatever keeps appearing on our screens must be the most important thing to the entire world. In reality, however, algorithms primarily show us content that aligns with our interests. If I watch a lot of videos about crypto, I鈥檒l see more crypto-related content; if I watch cricket, my feed will be filled with cricket; and if I view content about books, I鈥檒l receive more book recommendations. That is why, at times, we need to step outside our own feeds to see what people are actually discussing.

For me, the current trend in crypto isn't just about making money; it is also an opportunity to understand a new field. I have learned that one shouldn't blindly follow any viral trend. First, one needs to understand what the thing actually is, why people are talking about it, what the risks involved are, and whether we truly comprehend it or are simply following the crowd. Perhaps this is the most important lesson of all. Trends come and go, today it is one thing, tomorrow it will be something else. A particular coin might be the center of attention today, only to be forgotten by people a short while later. However, if we acquire a skill or gain knowledge during that time, it stays with us. That is why this crypto trend is not merely a viral topic for me; it has become a means of learning. My journey has just begun, and I do not know how far I will progress in crypto and trading in the coming months. But one thing is certain: I do not want to simply follow the trend; I want to understand it first. After all, going viral is temporary, but knowledge is always valuable.
