𝐈 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐭!

Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great.

So I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and honestly I am kinda sitting here feeling a little silly. I finished the entire book in just 4 days. For me, that was a quick read. I could not stop reading after the first few chapters.

To be real, I think the main reason I waited so long to finally pick up this series is because I just couldn't imagine myself liking a story about an eleven year old boy and, his time at a wizardry school because I kept telling myself it would be too juvenile for me. I mean. A kids book about magic spells. About potions. About school robes. I thought I had outgrown that kind of stuff years ago.

So I was wrong of course I was totally and completely wrong.

I can say, with some honesty, that I loved every single minute of this book, it turned out to be a spectacular little romp, filled with funny, courageous, and deeply endearing characters, so you can't help but fall in love with them from the moment they appear on the page.

So the world building J.K. Rowling created here is fun with so much quirky weird and magical stuff packed into these pages that kept a smile on my face while reading. Just to list a few insane things off the top of my head:

• Life sized talking chess pieces that violently smash each other to bits during a game.

• A magical singing hat that decides your entire school house destiny.

• A giant three headed dog named Fluffy.

• A hilarious giant (Hagrid!) who literally has a lowkey Dragon fetish and just wants to raise dangerous magical beasts.

• A master wizard (Dumbledore) who is undeniably brilliant but also just a little bit crazy in the best way possible.

• Owls deliver mail to your table during breakfast each morning.

• Goblins running a high security underground bank called Gringotts

• Unicorns, centaurs hiding in the forest, trolls.

And honestly, there is probably so much more that I am forgetting right now because my brain is still buzzing from how fast paced the final chapters were!.

So what made the story stand out for me was not just the magic tricks or the creatures but the lead characters because the way their relationship was built and their development happened felt very natural.

First you have Hermione Granger, when she first shows up on the Hogwarts Express train she starts out pretty prim, up tight, and frankly kind of annoying with her bossy know it all attitude, like she doesn't stop. As the story goes on. Things get dangerous. She becomes a true friend. She's loyal. She uses her scholar brain. She saves the guys many times.

Ron Weasley comes from a poor family, wearing hand me down robes and, using second hand school stuff, but he has an overwhelming amount of family warmth and unshakeable loyalty to his friends that makes up for it. He is humorous, relatable, and courageous when necessary.

Harry starts out sleeping in a closet under the stairs, abused by his aunt in addition to uncle, and, ends up stepping up to become the hero. Harry is kind to those that deserve it, fearless when it counts the most, and, intelligent when pushed into a corner. What's not to love?

So I snapped a picture of my favorite quote from the book, right after the trio survives the chaotic incident in the girls bathroom:

"But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them."

So that single quote sums up true friendship because surviving chaos together brings people together.

As soon as i finished reading the last page, I went online, ordered the second book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". The order is placed but it will be delivered in a week and I do not know how I will wait that long.
