Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
So for today's #Splinterlands post I wanted to continue my little card spotlight series. I actually enjoy making these because sometimes there are cards that look really good on paper, but once you actually think about their abilities you realize they can be even stronger than expected.
Today's card, Ironcoil Bulwark.
This is a Rare Dragon unit, and honestly, I think it's one of those cards that can become really scary if your opponent doesn't deal with it quickly.
It also has some really fun abilities that work together surprisingly well.
The first thing I noticed was its overall stats.
For a 9 mana card, it comes with:
Huge 11 Health
8 Armor
Strong 5 Melee Attack
Decent 5 Speed
Those are already solid numbers.
It looks like a frontline fighter that can survive for a long time while still putting out serious damage.
The armor especially caught my eye because it gives this card extra staying power before enemies even start touching its health.
Enrage: +50% melee power and speed if not at full health.
When this unit is no longer at full health, it gains +50% melee attack and speed.
I always like Enrage because instead of getting weaker after taking damage, this card actually becomes MORE dangerous.
Imagine already having good melee damage and then suddenly attacking even harder.
That can completely change the battle.
Retaliate: 50% chance to counterattack successful melee attacks, even if defeated.
This one is probably my favorite ability on the card.
Whenever an enemy lands a melee attack, there's a 50% chance Ironcoil Bulwark immediately attacks back.
And the best part?
It can even retaliate when defeated.
That's honestly pretty crazy.
Sometimes your opponent thinks they finally removed your tank and then gets hit one last time.
Trample: After using a melee attack to defeat a unit, performs another melee attack against the unit in the next position.
The final ability is Trample.
If Ironcoil Bulwark defeats an enemy using a melee attack, it immediately attacks the next enemy in line.
This ability always feels satisfying.
Nothing is better than watching one enemy fall and then seeing your unit continue attacking without waiting for the next round.
If Enrage has already activated, Trample becomes even more dangerous because the extra damage makes defeating enemies much easier.
I think what makes Ironcoil Bulwark special isn't just one ability.
It's how everything works together.
The enemy attacks.
Enrage activates.
Retaliate starts punishing melee attackers.
Then if Ironcoil Bulwark defeats someone, Trample lets it keep attacking.
Everything kinda flows together nicely.
That's something I always appreciate in #Splinterlands cards.
Some cards have random abilities.
This one feels like every ability has a purpose.
Personally, I'd use Ironcoil Bulwark mostly as my frontline tank.
Dragon units also give you flexibility because you can combine them with different splinters depending on the ruleset.
I also think it becomes much stronger against teams that rely heavily on melee attackers.
Retaliate can punish them over and over again.
Of course, magic-heavy teams might still be a problem, but that's true for many armor-based tanks.
No card is perfect after all.
Overall, I think Ironcoil Bulwark is a really impressive Rare Dragon card.
It has excellent survivability, strong attack power, and abilities that become more threatening as the battle goes on.
The combination of Enrage, Retaliate, and Trample makes every melee fight risky for your opponent.
Honestly, this is one of those cards I wouldn't ignore if I saw it on the battlefield.
It has the potential to completely swing a match if left alive for too long.
I'll definitely be looking forward to trying it in more battles someday because I think it has a lot of potential in the right lineup.
Anyway thats it for today鈥檚 #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
