Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
Alright, time for another #Splinterlands card spotlight!
Today I'm looking at an Epic Earth card that I think can be pretty useful in the right lineup.
The card I'm talking about is, Satha Toledo.
Satha Toledo is an Epic Earth unit, and at Level 6, which is the max level, she has 2 abilities that make her more of a support-focused card rather than just another damage dealer.
Her stats at max level are:
Mana Cost: 5
Ranged Attack: 3
Health: 6
Speed: 4
Armor: 1
And her abilities are:
Tank Heal: Each round, restores 1/3 of max health to the allied unit in the first position.
Lookout: Adjacent units take 1 less damage from attackers with Sneak, Snipe, or Opportunity.
And honestly, for only 5 mana, that's a pretty interesting combination.
The first thing I noticed about Satha Toledo is that her stats are actually pretty balanced.
She has 3 ranged attack, which is enough to contribute some damage instead of just standing there doing nothing.
Then she has 6 health and 1 armor.
That's not enough to make her a tank obviously, but it does give her some protection if something manages to reach her.
Her 4 speed is also pretty decent.
But I don't think you're really choosing Satha Toledo because of her stats.
You're choosing her because of those two abilities.
And especially, Tank Heal.
That's where things start getting interesting.
Tank Heal: Each round, restores 1/3 of max health to the allied unit in the first position.
Tank Heal is one of those abilities that can completely change how long your frontline survives.
Every round, Satha Toledo restores 1/3 of the max health of the allied unit in the first position.
So basically, while your tank is taking damage, Satha is sitting behind it and helping repair the damage every round.
And this can be HUGE in longer battles.
You know those fights where both teams are hitting each other over and over again, but nobody can seem to break through?
That's where a healer can become extremely valuable.
Your tank might get beaten down pretty badly during a round.
Then the next round starts, and suddenly some of that health comes right back.
It's not going to make your tank immortal, but it can definitely give it extra time to survive.
And sometimes that's all you need.
Lookout: Adjacent units take 1 less damage from attackers with Sneak, Snipe, or Opportunity.
The second ability is Lookout.
This one is a little different.
Lookout makes adjacent units take 1 less damage from attackers with:
Sneak
Snipe
Opportunity
And I actually really like this because those attacks can be extremely annoying.
Sneak attackers are trying to reach your backline.
Opportunity attackers are looking for your weakest units.
Snipe attackers are going after specific units behind the frontline.
So having Satha Toledo positioned correctly can reduce some of that incoming damage.
The important word here is:
Adjacent.
You need to think about positioning.
You can't just put Satha anywhere and expect the entire team to get the benefit.
The units next to her are the ones you really want to protect.
I think positioning might actually be the most important part of using Satha Toledo.
Because you have two different things to think about.
First, you want her close enough to the units you want to protect with Lookout.
Second, she needs to be positioned where she can safely keep healing your frontline.
So you don't want her standing somewhere completely exposed.
At the same time, you don't want to put her so far away that your important support units aren't getting the Lookout bonus.
It's one of those cards where the lineup can look completely different depending on what you're expecting from the opponent.
Personally, I think I'd use Satha Toledo in battles where I expect the fight to last several rounds.
She's not really a card I'd choose for an ultra-fast aggressive strategy.
Her strength comes from support and sustainability.
If you have a strong tank that you want to keep alive for longer, Satha can be a great addition.
And if the opponent is using a lot of Sneak, Snipe or Opportunity attacks?
Even better.
That's when Lookout starts becoming really useful too.
Basically, she gives you a reason to build your lineup around defense instead of just trying to deal as much damage as possible.
Overall, I think Satha Toledo is a pretty interesting Epic Earth unit.
She's not the strongest attacker.
She's not a tank.
And she's definitely not a card you just throw into every lineup.
But as a support unit?
She can be really useful.
Tank Heal gives your frontline more staying power.
Lookout helps protect nearby units from Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity attacks.
And the fact that she only costs 5 mana makes her easier to fit into different teams.
For me, the biggest thing is really the positioning.
Put her in the right place and she can quietly provide value throughout the entire battle.
Put her in the wrong place, and you're probably going to wonder why you even brought her.
Anyway thats it for today鈥檚 #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
