Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.

Today I wanted to continue my little card spotlight series, and this time I picked a Dragon card that honestly looks really cool.

The card is, Dragonfang Lancer.

At first I thought this was just another fast damage dealer, but after reading all of its abilities, I realized there is actually a lot more going on with this card.

It has a really interesting mix of offense and survivability, and I feel like it can become very annoying for your opponent if it stays alive for a few rounds.

Just looking at the stats, Dragonfang Lancer already feels like a dangerous unit.

It has:

  • Mana Cost: 6

  • Attack: 3 (Ranged)

  • Health: 6

  • Armor: 4

  • Speed: 3

The stats are pretty balanced.

It isn't one of those massive tanks with tons of health, but it also isn't super fragile. Four armor gives it some protection early in the battle, which is always nice.

Being a Dragon unit also means it can fit into different team combinations depending on your summoner, and I always like cards that give more flexibility.

Opportunity: Targets the enemy unit with the least health.

The first ability is Opportunity.

Instead of attacking the front unit, it automatically targets the enemy with the lowest health.

I really like this ability because it helps remove support monsters hiding in the backline.

Many battles are won by eliminating those weaker support units first.

Reflexes: After the first successful attack by an attacker against this unit, all subsequent attacks from that attacker against this unit miss for the rest of the round.

The second ability is Reflexes.

After an enemy lands their first successful attack against Dragonfang Lancer, every other attack from that same attacker during that round automatically misses.

I think this is a pretty unique defensive ability.

Instead of simply reducing damage, it can completely shut down repeated attacks from the same enemy, making Dragonfang Lancer surprisingly difficult to finish off in certain situations.

Mimic: At the beginning of round 2 and each following round, gain a random ability from the enemy.

The final ability is Mimic

At the beginning of round two, and every round after that, Dragonfang Lancer gains a random ability from the enemy.

Honestly, this is probably my favorite part of the card.

Every battle becomes a little different because you never know what ability it will end up getting.

Sometimes it might gain something decent.

Sometimes it could get something absolutely amazing.

That randomness makes every match more fun in my opinion.

After spending some time looking over everything, I think Dragonfang Lancer is one of those cards that gets stronger the longer the battle lasts.

Opportunity lets it pressure weak enemies.

Reflexes helps it survive.

Then Mimic keeps adding something new as the battle continues.

That's a pretty fun combination.

It isn't just a card that hits things over and over.

It actually changes during the fight.

I always enjoy cards that make battles feel less predictable.

Personally, I think Dragonfang Lancer works best in medium to high mana battles.

Since it costs 6 mana, you still have plenty of room to build a balanced team around it.

I'd also pair it with units that can keep pressure on the enemy frontline while Dragonfang Lancer quietly removes weaker backline targets.

If it survives into later rounds, there's also the chance that Mimic gives it something really useful.

That alone makes it worth trying.

  • Opportunity is always useful.

  • Reflexes makes the card harder to kill.

  • Mimic keeps every battle interesting.

  • Good balance between offense and defense.

  • Flexible because it's a Dragon unit.

Things I Don't Like

Nothing is perfect of course.

I think the biggest weakness is that Mimic depends on luck.

Sometimes you'll get an amazing ability.

Other times, maybe not.

Also, Dragonfang Lancer isn't built to be your main tank, so it still needs good teammates around it.

After looking at Dragonfang Lancer more closely, I honestly think it's a really fun card.

It has a nice balance of offense and defense, and its abilities make every battle feel a little different. I especially like the combination of Opportunity and Reflexes, while Mimic adds that extra surprise factor that keeps things exciting.

It may not be the strongest Dragon card in #Splinterlands, but it definitely has its own unique playstyle. If you enjoy adaptable cards that can change as the battle goes on, I think Dragonfang Lancer is worth giving a try.

I'll definitely be using it more in future battles to see just how crazy some of those random abilities can get.

Anyway thats it for today鈥檚 #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)

I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
