The US Trade dollar was specially created in the 1870’s, as a "universal currency" to facilitate international commerce.

This coin pays tribute to the United State’s Trade Dollar, on behalf of the legendary East India Company.

It is a 2018 1 Pound issued by St. Helena (Royal Mint). It weights 1oz (31.1g) with 99.9% silver purity and Brilliant Uncirculated finish. 10,000 units were minted.

The reverse features the classic Seated Lady Liberty, sitting upon a throne of bales. The original design was by William Barber, Chief Engraver of the US Mint from 1869 to his death, in 1879.
