The Games of the XXII Olympiad were held in Moscow, USSR in 1980.

Led by the United States, 66 countries boycotted the games entirely because of the Soviet–Afghan War. The Soviet Union would later boycott the Summer Olympics that would be held in Los Angeles, USA in 1984.

We will show now several coins that were emitted to commemorate this event.

Let's continue with the 1 Ruble coins. They are made of copper-nickel-zinc and weight 12.8 g each.
