I can agree with you on the deflation in electronics, but there is a built-in bias for governments to under-report inflation:
1 Inflation is a one for one negative direction to the GDP figure
2 Inflation adds to Social Security payments, so better to under report
3 Inflation hurts Bond yields long term
4 Government debt payments would explode with normalized bond yields
5 Inflation calculation assumes the consumer will switch to buying a cheaper product when the primary product is unavailable...i.e. Buy chicken instead of steak
6 Manufactures shrink-flate, smaller product portions, same size box
