oh sweet. so even if it's a cheaper amp, you're still probably a good step ahead of just using a computer/phone jack. and what kind of tube is in it? that could potentially be another decent cheaper upgrade there - though if it's literally a $20, might just get better results putting $120 into an Apos Gremlin amp, which are supposedly pretty good, than $70 into a tube for the old one

also, one other thing to share that i just discovered couple days ago, tested last night, and can actually make a BIG improvement at the whopping cost of $0: Headmania upsampler

it may take a bit of testing out the different filters & settings to find what works best on your system. though once I got my eq dialed in and narrowed down the optimal config for my uDac+Auris+Clear to be the 500k Linear filter at 768 on NOS... holy bejeezus. 🤯

serious sound upgrade. HQPlayer was on radar before as good upsampler but i couldn't justify the $500 price, but this being totally free... no brainer. 👀😎🎶
