Maharashtra becomes 18th state to prohibit the use of plastic. It is one of the good measure taken which will be beneficial in the long run. Maharashtra alone produced 1200 tonnes of plastic waste everyday.
One lakh marine animals are killed due to disposal of plastics globally and it is also seen that marine animals are found dead around the coastal areas of Mumbai due to plastic disposal.
Therefore ban on plastic is considered as the 'historic moment' towards bettering the liives of all citizens and protecting the environment.
