Vintage Philip's EM201 Transmission Electron Microscope
The EM201 made its first appearance around 1972. It had a eucentric stage (specimen height is on the same tilt axis of the goniometer stage), used a tungsten filament and under the right conditions could resolve down to around 3 Angstrom. A few are still in service today, including one we refurbished and delivered to a USDA lab in Kansas.
I actually have one in storage and a plethora of parts for it, that I want to get running. That will be a while since I have not had time work on the 420 in over a month! But it will happen. The EM201 is pretty compact and comparatively low power, and can fit in a garage. If I recall correctly it can run off a 110V 20amp service with a 220 Step Transformer.
