Adding to this as I am pretty curious who is taking my steem account hostage after 4 years of adding value to their coins.

So counting from the list you have actually:

From the current list of 22.8888 witnesses: @triple.aaa, @jayplay.witness, @the707, @skuld2000.wit, @segye.witness all related back to JJM / AAA group. And with only having @segyepark running the show (technologically) as the others are not tech savvy (their words: "As both @virus707 and @jayplayco are not developers but more business and project driven figures, it is a blessing to have such a talented developer on board of the JJM team.").

I did not investigate further but I would not be surprised if more of the fake witnesses are also run by this group.
