Congratulations, that is a big step and I commend you for being so proactive about getting your vaccination. For me, getting the second shot was actually very emotional, as it symbolized the end of more than a year of grief, fear, and uncertainty.

The vaccination rate where I live is slowly but surely creeping up and many establishments (such as my gym) have done away with mask mandates and are using the honor system that vaccinated people can go unmasked but unvaccinated people are still asked to wear a mask. I've finally been able to hug some friends after going so long without any human contact which has been wonderful.

We are all very lucky to have survived this nightmare, and should be grateful that the top medical minds in the world were able to release this vaccine to the public in record time.

I think we should all take note to be present for a moment when we can, and try to enjoy what we have while we have it, knowing now how fragile life can be.
