As a musician myself, I believe this model is dead and NFTs are the way forward. I think I can make more money picking up coins on the ground around the parking meters downtown than I can from streaming royalties.
With the NFT route, I just need one or a few people to make a purchase and if eventually some record label wants to go scrounging for nickels on my behalf getting the tunes out to streaming, sure so be it. But I can't be bothered.
Oh yeah, but I guess if you want to play shows and stuff, you should get all your stuff out there streaming. Not to make money, but just to advertise, essentially. Just getting on the platform isn't enough though, you'll need to attract the attention of curators/tastemakers/DJs/whatever; those are the people who wield the power to make you into a happening up-and-comer. Otherwise, barring expert machiavellian self promotion skills, you're doomed to obscurity.
