By the time I am writing this post, another one of my Android apps got restricted from the Play Store. The policies changed as quickly before you can make updates. As a stand alone developer that has developed more than 300 apps, this can be time consuming and frustrating!
Google Playstore has made tremendous amount of policy changes which affects developers need to strictly comply with the changes made. Failure to comply will result to our apps getting blacklisted or removed.
I understand the need of the changes and after all, Google owns Playstore. There is not pretty much I can do because developers need to follow rules.
However, I am not actually upset with the changes made but I am really dissapointed with the changes due to censorship. This is mainly one of Playstore greatest weakness, Censorship.
Rule after rule has to be followed and changes after changes needs to be done. I am at the point where I am confused and angry. Why that much policy changes?
It requires me tremendous amount of time fix the issues but and it has affected my income 10% - 20% from Google. Hopefully, there will not be any sudden changes to their policies until I can update all my apps.
I have been developing apps since 2015 as my side income. Using a simple drag and drop platform saved me plenty of time to create apps on the go. One of the platform I used is Appsmillion and it really has proved effective!
I have developed more than 300 Android apps with wide varieties of functions. Personalization, News Feed, Mini Game and loads more. Hence, it is a troublesome to make updates to more than 300 apps! I can't complain much right?
That is why decentralization matters
This is truly why I really shifting my gear to support decentralization. People have the freedom of their speeches. Hive is just one of the excellent platform that support this cause. I would love to see a decentralized apps store one day too! There is no worries your censorship and centralization. Developer and user both can benefit without worrying of getting blocked. You have all the rights!
A decentralized apps store on Hive sounds nice right?
