Scammers Alert! A sudden surge of online scammers in the midst of Total Lockdown

Scammers! Damn scammers! Like the silent shadow they will follow you wherever you go preying silently and waiting for any opportunities to feast.

Wherever you go, they are always there without you knowing. It won't be their first and definitely won't be their last. The moment you let your guard down, they will the blood out of you until you run dry, well... sort of.

Not sure you noticed, but there has been an increase number of suspicious Facebook Ads running through my feed

Yes! I noticed that the number of online job works offered was a lot and way much more appearing at my feed, offering a ridiculous offer.

The screenshot above was just one of that suspicious ads which keeps appearing at my feed. There are tonnes more which looked alike.

This ads looks different but I have strong feeling that it is ran by the same scammers.

As a person who also uses Facebook Ads, I quite know how they operate behind the ads mechanics. The cost running these ads probably did not cost them much compared to the Persona (victim) they have set aside.

Looking at the demographic target, I bet they are targetting working adults which they take into account the lockdown sentiment. This means that, most likely they are highly targeting the ones that either people that wants to earn extra money by working online or worst case the ones that lost jobs.

I took the approach by not bothering these kind of ads since I know how are their modus operandi.

Personally I feel that this kind of shit should have at least did not happen during this lockdown. They are merely using the lockdown sentiment to lure their prey into their traps. I've noticed that some have been responding to the ads and I do hope they will be spared from the traps.

We all have been that victim that includes myself

Like many others, I too have experienced my fair share of being scammed.

It happened when I was really very young and I was not quite educated back then which led me to being scammed online. Money lost, experienced gained. I did not get too upset.

In fact, I learned and grew more wiser which taught me to never fall for such traps in the future.

I am glad the past thought me a lot.

Hence, I hope that more people will grow to know that this scammers are real and should be avoided. To be honest, there are scammers here on Hive too and you should be really careful.

Be smart and be careful especially doing online activities.
