I wrote a lot of articles in german about the great firmware for the ESP8266 controller.
The controller can bei easily flashed with different firmware, like tasmota or ESPEasy.
With this functionality you can "easy" switch relays, LEDS, getting informations from sensors. The data transfer can be via MQTT or you can have a look with your webinterface.
Finally yesterday the MEGA Release vom Letscontrolit / ESPeasy can be downloaded.
