I have talked with several people over the past few years that have gotten themselves all worked up over trying to discover what their purpose is. What exactly did they come here to do? I get it; nobody wants to waste their time and energy perusing the wrong purpose.
Allow me to share with you what I have come to believe; as long as you are doing something that excites you, it can't be wrong! Now I realize, there are plenty of people out there who are following a path because someone else said they should, or worse yet, expected them to. If you fall into that category then I would suggest some inward contemplation to determine if there is any part of you that is called to that career or profession, if not, change it. Change it now!
Seriously, life is too short to be doing something you truly don't enjoy, and I am speaking from experience here.
For over 20 years I worked a job that I despised! There was absolutely nothing about the job that fit my personality or my preferences.
So why was I doing it? Only because the money was good and I was good at doing it. So that shoots holes in the theory that your purpose is something you are good at, doesn't it? I can assure you, doing a job just for the money is never a going to end well. What you are giving up in return for that money is far too valuable.

Discovering your life's purpose is so much easier than we have been led to believe! And here's the real shocker, how you choose to express your purpose can CHANGE! Yes, it’s true! I think this is one of the reasons so many people freak out over this, they are afraid they'll pick something and be stuck.
So just relax, there is no deep manly voice that is going to shout down and say, "This is how you must express your purpose... FOREVER!"
Now I will share how I have decided to approach this subject, and why I am fully convinced that I am doing what I came here to do, I am fulfilling my purpose my way.
I know for sure that my purpose is to be a teacher. Now when I say that, nearly everyone will get a vision of me sitting in front of a classroom somewhere, right? Well, more on that in a moment, but what I realized was that I have been teaching all my life!

Now here's where it gets interesting! So 'teaching' is the hallway I have chosen to walk down, and this hallway has lots of doors, but I can assure you I will never ever, not even on a dare, open the door that would have me sitting in front of a classroom... anywhere! Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not ME.

So how can I say that I am a teacher?
I am a teacher because I have always taught the things that I am passionate about to others.
It was never my ‘job’ it just always came from my heart which allowed me to also teach in ways I am passionate about! The best part is people who are eager to learn the things I am teaching always seem to find me! That’s what a true passion is, something you do because that’s who you are.
Are you beginning to see just how incredibly perfect this can all be?
So if you have been struggling to discover your life's purpose I strongly encourage you to just walk down the hallway of your greatest passion and choose as many doors as you wish! When you find something that excites you, hang out a while until you're ready to go explore what's behind another door.
The bottom line is this, your purpose is whatever YOU say it is, it's your life, you're in charge, don't wait, find your hallway now! I would be happy to hear about the things you discover when you begin opening your doors.
