RE: Node-Red Tabs on Raspberry Pi
The HiveMQ broker is a great public broker and I'd also check out the Adafruit IO learn website for access to their free broker. Adafruit is one of my favorite companies to buy some very cook IoT tech

RE: Prototyping and Breadboarding your circuits
Thanks for the reply @builderofcastles! We have a craft area downstairs where we both play and I've got limited space so I'll use the bins in my tackle box for the resistors (grin). If I'm in my Garage

RE: Node-Red Tabs on Raspberry Pi
Yeah, it seems to default to editing the original tab/group info rather than adding a new one. I had that happen a couple of times also.

RE: Coffee: The Most Important Meal of the Day
My wife is allergic to waking up early (grin!) so I'm the early bird and I have to admit that I've been slacking off for the last few months..... Used to grind the beans fresh in the morning and now with

Yes I can imagine it was a challenging task to cut the 20mm metal top in a straight line using cut-off discs! Well done!

Agreed, very interesting article. I wasn't aware of the positive effects of many of the plant species you had mentioned.

I took typing in high school because I needed a filler class I though it was a great way to meet girls (grin)! Well the most successful part of that venture was learning to touch type......hehehe!

That is the same feedback that I get from so many students taking my Basic Electricity & Electronics classes! "I can learn how to program online, but how do I actually hook up the devices without

RE: Installing the Mosquitto mqtt broker on Raspberry Pi
I agree. I was getting a bit concerned that the post was too long, so I really didn't go into detail. I'll follow this post up with another that will go into greater detail about the Node-Red matt node

Yes...... at one point or another, I've been involved in one of these projects. Often initiated by the 'big' boss who really didn't have a clue and wanted results, "Just get me my results!!!"

RE: The chain tensioner
I wonder if it would depend upon how aggressively the bike is ridden? I'm not an expert, but is BMX riding quite hard on the bike? The tightener looks light, but maybe enough if the chain isn't stressed

RE: Learning Node-Red first flow
Great Job! Now we just need to install the mosquitto mqtt broker on that Pi and then it can be the broker for all of the various PI data that you collect. That way you can have many different tabs on that
