My father is a fan of sea food, in fact all of us in the family are. When mother's day went by we ate in a restaurant for sea food but the serving and the price is not quite adding up so we made sure to go to Dampa instead the next occasion which is father's day.

DAMPA is a local term meaning "small house". But Dampa also means a franchise of sea food restaurant and they have several branches in the metro. We choose the biggest and nearest one which is along Macapagal, Pasay or in seaside dampa. Basically, you choose a restaurant in that area and you/they shop for the seafood and they will cook it for a fee. We choose to buy it ourselves since that process is fun as well.

We had several occasions celebrated in this place and the food is always delicious. We even had some team building here with my prior colleagues. We always go back to this resto in particular since it's clean, spacious and the food maintained it's quality taste after all these years. It's the "SIS restaurant".

So first off, we went to the restaurant to secure our table and then headed to the wet market just beside the restaurant.

This is how it looks. They have numerous kinds of sea foods. From shellfish, fishes and even sea weeds. There's even a meat section.

So me, my sister and my mom went around the place and bought 1 kilo of salmon, 1 KL "tahong" mussel, 1/4 KL of seaweed "lato", 1 KL "kuhol" snails, 1 KL of medium sized squid and 1 KL of shrimp.

We let the restaurant staff go and weigh them since the fee for cooking them differs in how much you've purchase per kind.

We settled in our table and we waited for the food while chatting with each other.

Then one by one the food were served. First is this hot and steaming "sinigang sa miso"salmon miso soup. It's rich broth just boosts your appetite. The tender meat of salmon is just rightly cooked. No wonder it's quite expensive.

Then they served the seaweed, garnished with raw tomatoes and onions with some drops of lime. I usually don't eat this since it's quite salty but I got a taste and it's actually okay, my mom and sister loved it through.

Then came along the squid as calamari, shrimp as tempura with mayo as a dip, the snails with "gata" or coconut milk and the baked cheese tahong. All of them superb and tasty. The snails you needed to pick the insisde with a toothpick to get the edible portion. It's quite a thrill.

We digged in and this bowl of rice is enough since you tend to eat more of the dish and the rice now is just a side dish. haha.

alt

We did not even finish all of it since we were so full, so we needed to take the remaining food home.

Then we billed out and the bill only came around $28 with all the service fee. And the cost for the market is also around $30. Not bad for some quality seafood in the middle of the metro. So if you are craving for some sea food try this place out and enjoy their sumptuous cooking. :)

My father was quite happy since this is the kind of things he likes, just eat out with us and just bond. Afterwards we had some coffee and headed to the mall and saw this movie The Incredibles 2. Surprisingly did not fall asleep this time, especially it's a cartoon movie, I guess he takes interests on cartoon action movies as well.

My mom loved it because of Jack Jack, the baby in the family, he is just so cute and adorable . No spoilers here I promise. :)

I also informed them that this is the part 2 that we have been waiting for this for 14 years since the first movie went out back in November 2004, that impressed them more. All I can say is that it's worth the wait indeed . Also it seems most of the people we were with in that cinema is mostly adults. :)

The most important thing is that my parents had fun and they enjoyed the day and this day was celebrated with all of us completely safe, happy and healthy. Thanks for dropping by. :)
