Our suffering is not because of what happens, but because of how we relate to it.
Let's take a look at a terrible day-
I wake up late for work because my alarm was not working. My first idea is "it's going to be a truely bad day. I don't have time and a lot to do"
I go to the shower and the water is cold. I hate cold baths. And I'm like, oh "sh** I knew it, it's a bad day."
I don't have time for breakfast, so I leave without eating anything.
I sat in my car and the tire is flat. By now I have become very irritable. I am sure there will be worse ahead. I take a cab and leave.
I reach the office and am told that my boss was looking for me. I realize i have a major presentation today. So far I'm sure there's some challenge.
I meet with my boss. There is a situation in the office and they need my suggestion on this. I am so tired and exhausted by now that I do not have the energy to think creatively. I clearly do not contribute positively to the discussion.
I come out cursing myself and wait to see what happens next.
Version 2
I wake up late for work because my alarm was not working. My first idea is "happy I am woke up now. I guess i still have a little bit time, I can make it."
I go to the shower and the water is cold. I hate cold baths. And I'm like, "Oh! Glad there's water. What if there has been no water." Cold water makes sure I finish quickly.
I realize that I may not be hungry, so I first choose an apple/energy bar to eat at the appropriate time.
I sat in my car and the tire is flat. I take a deep breath and call a cab. Thank God! The cab is here on time. I happily hop, eat whatever I've chosen and reach the office.
I am in a good mood to give my boss all the ideas and things work out well.
I come out of the cabin and do my job smiling and happy.
It is all inside the mind. We create power from our thoughts. Our mind is powerful past our creativeness. Cultivate positive thoughts and create positive energy from these thoughts to ensure that the positive happens.
Best wishes!
