Introduction

Today, I was very impressed with an article that I came across by @mistakili that can be found here.

What Was It About?

This article was titled "Will Splinterlands replicate Axie Infinity’s success?" and gave a side-by-side comparison of the two blockchain-based gaming platforms. Diving into some of the aspects that make Axie Infinity a popular platform, @mistakili cites the fact that the earning potential and structure are things that Splinterlands also has.

A huge aspect of the draw that Splinterlands has is the feeless structure that we enjoy on all Hive-based platforms. @mistakili cites that Axie Infinity is the second highest consumer entity behind Uniswap on the Ethereum network. Though the Axies have exploded in growth, nobody on the Ethereum network will tell you it is cheap and affordable to transact. When people begin to recognize the potential of the Hive platform, they will be even further enthralled comparatively that they won't have to pay ANY FEES!

Additionally, this article covered the discrepancy in size between Ethereum and Hive, something that will close over time and be expedited by the growth of platforms like Splinterlands.

What I Liked:

With all of the developments happening in the Splinterlands ecosystem, I have become more and more interested in actually playing the game. I do wish this happened earlier because I could have acquired some land plots, but maybe one day I will get my hands on one.

@mistakili gave an awesome side-by-side comparison of the games and produced an article that could be shown to anyone looking to decide which of the two games to get involved with. I think that the most exciting part was coming to the realization that we are still so early on Splinterlands and on Hive as a whole; as I said, there is a ton of room to grow to catch up with Ethereum, but I believe that one day we will do so. @mistakili did a great job reminding me of this by highlighting the positives of our ecosystem!
