Introduction:

Today I am highlighting a member of the community that we all likely know about by this point, but if not you have to know as soon as possible: @abh12345

This post is their bread and butter and contributes a ton to every ecosystem that it is replicated in!

What It's about:

@abh12345 is known for their talent at documenting engagement within specific tribes in order to foster a sense of competition and progression within the tribe itself. This article was a ranking for @leofinance over the last 7 days.

@abh12345 tracks the stats for everyone who participates on the platform, but only reports the stats for the 100 most active users at a time. Stats that contribute to your overall ranking include the number of posts and comments you made as well as more nuanced statistics such as comments made to other comments (something that would denote a back and forth conversation).

It looks like I placed 36th this week on Leo Finance and I know that is because of the lack of comments that I have been able to put out. However, seeing that engagement stat makes me more motivated to find the time over the next 7 days to seek out more meaningful engagement on the platform than just posting and going about my day.

What I Liked:

The benefit of putting together a competitive list such as this is that it allows users to understand where their efforts land them in terms of community influence and engagement. Additionally, it is some friendly competition that promotes quality engagement for users in the future in order to climb the rankings.

Additionally a numerical list such as this provides the opportunity to sponsor awards for random placements. People such as @melbournewest sponsor numbers on the list (theirs is number 42) and sends them a small Leo prize.

Projects such as this have only positive benefits for the community; especially if that community is seeking to grow! I have enlisted the help of @abh12345 to run a similar type of engagement competition on the @dunksocial platform that should be live within the next few days; we'll see what types of great placement sponsorships pop up in our niche of this Hive ecosystem.

I can't wait to watch how initiatives like this grow to insane levels as the number of users for individual platforms continue to gain. Perhaps we aren't too far from seeing a Leo top 1000 weekly ranking...
