I agree, it is nice to know where you stand with a company rather than just being left in the dark. I am just about to graduate undergrad and am attending law school, but a lot of my beef lies in the fact that the idea that "degrees open doors" is really starting to fade away as only 27 percent get a job in their field.

I like your idea on evaluating my own skills, I think I will use that framework to develop a better understanding of what I want to accomplish and how I might begin taking steps to do that.
