Oh what a long two years it has been. So much has been going on around the world, but we are all dealing with things on an individual level as well.
Despite all of the negatives, I am happy that things went the way they did. I am a big believer in the whole concept of the butterfly effect, and think that the ideas that I am formulating now would never have reached my mind without the exact set of events that I have experienced thus far.
Here's a definition of the concept for those who are unfamiliar:
In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. - Wikipedia
So basically any minor thing happening differently in my life and I may not be the person that I am today. That leads me to believe that everything actually does happen for a reason. I am now three days into the development of a blockchain game concept that I may never have come up with. Maybe it is a success and maybe it is a miserable failure, but either way, whatever happens happens for a reason!
I think that this type of positive mindset and appreciation for all of the negative things that may occur in life helps with numerous facets of our lives.
For example, if you make a bad trade, you learn that in the future you should not be doing that type of thing. If you end up spending hundreds of dollars on gas fees, you learn to spend more economically in order to save in the future. If you send a crypto to the wrong address or wrong format of address, you learn that in the future you can't be so rash with your transactions. If you write an article that is tagged incorrectly, you learn from that and be sure to label better in the future.
Had I not had issues with sports betting, I would have never found Leo Finance or Hive (at least not until we go mainstream) and I would not have found an outlet for my thoughts and aspirations. I have grown my knowledge a lot here on web 3.0. and had I not made some mistakes in the past, I would not be as well-informed as I am on things like cryptocurrency, DeFi, etc.
I guess this post is just a bit of a reminder that we need to use our negative experiences in business, life, etc. to channel positive perspectives from. If one thing is going horribly wrong, it may just be saving your ass in the future or growing your knowledge to inform better decisions. Keep learning, keep growing and embrace all the bad things; they won't stop coming, but with better perspective we can embrace their existence.
