The other day, @raymondspeaks wrote this awesome piece about
@taskmaster4450le and how he established an identity and presence here on Leo Finance. It really got me thinking about how my personal page has been perceived by others on here and how I can adjust that to take on a more mindful approach when writing pieces.
Why Is It Important To Establish Identity?
An essential point of what Raymond wrote about the other day was consistency. In establishing an identity, it is important to give your audience something consistent and reliable to engage with. The way that @taskmaster does it is by posting a certain number of times per day on topics that are closely linked to one another (cryptocurrency, technology and economics). Tribes seem to create the niche for authors to find relevant topical focuses, but there is so much room for creativity within a said niche that it becomes easy to produce random and disjointed material as a result.
My Identity
I am absolutely guilty of putting out articles that are all over the place topically. I started off doing interviews but then realized that it would be difficult to talk to a different person each day and found myself scrambling for topics right before I sat down to write about them. Though I have produced some articles that I think were pretty good, a lot of my material does not measure up to my expectations of my own writing. This is not something that drags me down, but something that is motivating now that I see it.
Running a new tribe now, I have found myself with much less time to engage on Leo Finance. I have lacked the motivation to post on a daily basis as I really have no firm topic-set and have not been in the mood to brainstorm said topics.
However, the @raymondspeaks article was really motivating for me once I read it. I absolutely realize the value of the Leo Finance community and the token ecosystem that powers it and it has made me want to find my exact niche within this tribe and participate to the best of my ability.
My Goals In Identity
I want to get back to doing interviews and even possibly do some type of consistent podcast on a weekly basis. With that being said, if anyone is interested in an interview please reach out to me here in the comments!
Additionally, I want to start focusing on highlighting other members of the community. Though I have an interest in finance and doing my own research, I think that I have almost maxed out the financial-takes that I have to give the site (obviously as more events happen, I would be in a position to react to them and add to community discourse).
I think that a lot of the best material on the site goes unnoticed or is only discussed in depth on forums such as @leomarkettalk A few times a week now, I will try to highlight (with permission) authors that have written something sensational so that they get the credit they deserve.
I will call this highlighting segment "Rob's Leo All Stars". If you see any fantastic articles in the next few days, reach out to me and let me know and I'll give the author a message if I agree! This is how I will try to establish a firm identity here on Leo Finance.
