After getting more and more frustrated with steemit.com, and trying out busy.org unsuccessfully, I have now joined the beta test for busy.org.
Loving it, really loving it.
Why, you ask?
First off it looks cleaner.
Also I can finally have a hyperlink open in a new tab!!! This is a big failure on steemit.com. You don't want people to leave the site because of a link somewhere else, let the editor decide what the right behavior should be.
I can save posts and revisit them whenever I want.
And you have a direct connection with the programmers/developers. Some issues that were found in the public beta are already resolved, which is a great thing.
Is it ideal? No, it's not.
Some of the thing that annoy me.
The search function is not great yet. It uses a Google search function, which opens the post you want to read in steemit.com.
When you read a post in Steemit.com, it opens as an overlay. Clicking next to it closes the article and you're back where you were. In busy.org it opens as a window and you have to use the "back" button to get to the list.
When I change the payout of a post from 50/50 to 100 SP, steemit.com remembers that setting. Busy.org does not, which is annoying because I want to increase my SP at the moment, since I'm trying to grow.
There are some other issues as well, but I know those are being worked on.
If anyone wants to join the public beta, read this post and follow the instructions.
All in all this is a great example of a development on steem, without using steemit.com.
