Playa el Agua is one of the beaches that forms part of the municipality of Antol铆n del Campo on Margarita Island, and it is so extensive that it is actually "divided" into sectors, or rather, there are areas of this beach that are known by different names, such as Varadero, Punta Cabo Blanco, or Punta Cazonero, and they all have a completely different vibe and atmosphere.
Previously, the busiest part was at the beginning of the beach, as there were a large number of restaurants as well as the vast majority of hotels, but after a restructuring and the demolition of all the restaurants, the dynamics of the beach changed a lot. Now, the area towards "varadero", which used to be the quietest part of the beach, has been filled with beach clubs and is much busier. However, there is still a small part that remains quiet, and this area is called "punta cabo blanco", which is right at the end of Playa el Agua.
It's not a place we usually visit; in fact, we always stay in Varadero. But yesterday, being Saturday, there were lots of visitors and a lot of noise, and to be honest, as I haven't been feeling well lately, I wanted to be as calm as possible. In fact, the idea of going to the beach was to clear my mind a little, because, as you know, the sea is healing.
We arrived at the beach, grabbed our things, and headed straight to the end. To be honest, I couldn't remember the last time I had walked along that part of the beach. It's so peaceful and the view is so different because there are no palm trees there, just a hill that divides the beach and leads to Cabo Negro. There are no umbrellas, no restaurants, absolutely nothing. You could say it's an unspoiled area, just sea, sand, rock formations, and a huge sky that was quite cloudy that day, but that didn't take away from the beauty of the landscape at all.
Finally, after walking for a while, we chose a place to sit, and Jos茅 and the kids went for a swim.
By the way, the sea in this area is much calmer and forms a kind of cove thanks to the rocks that soften the strong waves, so I can enjoy the visit much more, as I am not anxious about the waves or the strong current that is characteristic of this beach.
While my husband and the boys were swimming, I took the opportunity to walk along the shore. To be honest, I did it without my cell phone because I needed to disconnect, breathe, and relax, and I can tell you that I succeeded. There is definitely nothing more healing than the sea breeze. Walking along the shore while the waves come and go, wetting your feet and sinking them into the sand, is something I love.
I walked back and forth several times, and finally I approached the rocks and looked for some shells on the shore, of which there are many in the sand, but in my search I found something much better: some pieces of coral and even a sea sponge, as well as some very small sea urchin shells, and of course I didn't hesitate to bring them home.
The truth is that it was a very rewarding outing because the kids didn't know that part of the beach, and it was very helpful for me to be in a place of complete peace. It is undoubtedly refreshing.
