THE MACRO WORLD // The Beauty of Parasitoid Wasps and Leaf Beetles in Macro Photography
Good night to all my beloved hive friends 鉂わ笍
It is truly amazing. There are two insects that I will be sharing in this post. The first is a parasitoid wasp, and the second is a leaf beetle. I am confused about which insect to start with because both are equally beautiful and have very unique characteristics.
However, let us start with the parasitoid wasp first. This particular wasp most likely belongs to the Ichneumonidae family, and it can easily be found in plantations. This wasp is smaller than most other wasps in general, so from a distance, we often mistake it for a fly.
This particular wasp has a relatively long and slender body, making it easy for us to identify. Its abdomen features black coloration with distinctive yellow patterns, along with six orange-colored legs. What I find most interesting is actually its eyes, which appear larger than the other parts of its body. It also has fairly long and slender antennae.
At first, I managed to find this particular wasp perched on a mango tree in my plantation, but it flew up onto a branch when I wanted to photograph it.
Photographing flying insects is always quite an exciting challenge. They might make us feel overwhelmed by the random behavior of each insect, but the most enjoyable part is when we finally manage to photograph it and see the results we have captured.
Maybe in a few days, my friends and I will go back into the forest for another adventure. Of course, this will be an opportunity for me to find various interesting and rare subjects to photograph, but it will depend on the weather.
On top of the dry grass, I managed to find a very cute and beautiful insect, and this is a leaf beetle that most likely belongs to the Chrysomelidae family.
This little beetle looks absolutely amazing because it is blessed with a beautiful reddish-orange color, with four large black patterns on its wing covers.
Once again, this is an insect that is quite small in size, so its beauty can only truly be seen when viewed from a close distance.
At first glance, this particular insect looks very similar to a ladybug, but its body is more elongated and curved, with a convex shape on its back.
To bring out its full potential, I tried to photograph this insect from various different angles, so that every detail could be seen quite clearly.
Both of the insects I shared have their own beauty and uniqueness, but I personally prefer this leaf beetle because it has such a striking color.
