Still related to my experience during my adventure into the forest yesterday, this is about an extraordinary discovery that I managed to find : a soldier fly and a sawfly.
First of all, let鈥檚 get to know a soldier fly from the Stratiomyidae family. Quite clearly, we can see the uniqueness of this fly, starting from its body, which displays beautiful metallic green and blue colors. From a close distance, we can also see that its eyes are dominated by two large compound eyes, and at a glance, the shape of these eyes looks almost similar to those of most other flies in general.
If I鈥檓 not mistaken, in one of my posts 15 days ago, I also shared the beauty of this particular insect, but this time, I managed to find it again. Every opportunity may not come twice, so as soon as I found this insect, I still tried my best to capture and preserve its beauty.
I myself managed to find this particular insect at the edge of a swamp in the middle of the forest. At first, I found this fly perched on some wild grass, but when I tried to approach it, it flew toward the trees. I didn鈥檛 have any difficulty at all when photographing this insect. It was quite calm and docile, which made it easier for me to bring my macro lens closer to it.
I was able to photograph it easily from the side, but the interesting part was when I tried to photograph it from the front. This particular fly seemed to realize that I was watching it, and it kept avoiding me whenever I tried to photograph it from the front. It didn鈥檛 fly away, but it kept turning its body around, as if it didn鈥檛 want to be photographed from the front.
In my personal opinion, the most striking feature of this particular fly is its large compound eyes. From a close distance, the sight looks absolutely incredible, especially with its bluish-purple color combined with an intricate striped pattern.
And secondly, let鈥檚 get to know an insect called a sawfly. Unfortunately, I only managed to find a little information about this particular insect, and I鈥檓 not even sure which family it belongs to.
But now, let鈥檚 take a closer look at the uniqueness of this insect. From a close distance, we can clearly see its bright yellow abdomen, along with black coloration on its thorax.
In terms of size, this insect is smaller than the soldier fly, but it has a much more striking coloration. I managed to find this particular insect around a palm oil plantation area, and at that time, it was perched on a tree branch.
And this particular insect was also quite wild and skittish, which caused me to fail several times when trying to photograph it. In fact, at that moment, I only managed to photograph this insect from the side. It was very cautious and would immediately fly away whenever I made a sudden or hurried movement.
I'm @riyat. See you again in my next post
