In this post, I would like to share my experience and the rewarding moment when I successfully reached the summit of Batu Susun, which stands at an elevation of 1,350 MASL. To get there,I have to go through a very extreme incline, namely the Colok Satu incline,it was definitely a challenging and exhausting journey, especially for older visitors. However, once you make it to the top, all the effort feels worthwhile, as a sense of happiness and satisfaction awaits you there.
In my post a few days ago, I told you how my journey to this place began, and ended when I rested in the middle of this hill, and now I will focus on telling you about the happy and challenging moments of reaching the peak.
The road to the top of Batu Susun is actually quite wide, but the road is in very poor condition, making it impossible for me to navigate this incline by motorbike. For experienced hikers, this may be a trivial and very easy climb, but for an ordinary visitor like me, this incline is enough to drain energy and make our knees tremble when passing it Lol.
I felt very tired when I passed the Colok Satu climb, the trail was not only steep but also winding and challenging, so I had to watch my step carefully. However, as I continued the ascent, I could already feel the fresh mountain air coming from the summit of Batu Susun, and glimpses of the beautiful scenery below began to appear.
As soon as I reached the top, I immediately felt quite satisfied, there I could see a very wide open area, and there was also a very strategic viewpoint area.
My eyes immediately fell on several piles of stones that were arranged naturally (according to the information I got from the officers there), the stones were also quite large and arranged perfectly.
It turns out that behind this peak there is also a village located at the foot of the mountains and squeezed by a mountain valley, this is a unique and quite extraordinary view.
Almost everything at the top of this hill looks quite simple. Here, we cannot find unique or luxurious huts or chairs; even the chairs here are made directly from stones. There is one rock area that looks like a chair and table positioned facing toward the city of Takengon and tawar sea.Of course, it is a very suitable place to rest and relax while enjoying the natural view, however it was very unfortunate that the weather at that time was quite hot, so I could not withstand the heat of the blazing sun.
At first, I did not believe that these stones had arranged themselves naturally, because they looked very perfect, and I wondered how nature could have arranged them in such a way. I also asked the staff there several times, and I searched about this phenomenon on Google as well, and all of them said that these stones were indeed arranged naturally, who knows?
One of the drawbacks of this place is that there is not a single shelter at the summit, making it difficult for visitors to find a place to take cover except under the trees. Even my partner and I decided to take shelter beneath those rocks at that time.
At that time, the visitors who came to this place were not too crowded, but that was normal because I visited this place at 1:00 pm, usually this place only gets busy starting at 4:00 pm.
While resting, I was also able to enjoy the truly remarkable natural scenery. From one spot, I could admire the unique naturally arranged rock formations, with Lake Laut Tawar and the city of Takengon in the background. Of course, this combination of colors created a view that was incredibly refreshing to the eyes.
At this peak, we can also find a sign that says "Batu Susun", and this is one of the favorite spots for visitors who want to take photos because it has a very beautiful natural scenery in the background.
