God's intent is not for our mortal bodies to keep existing indefinitely but a time will come when mortality will take on immortality. That is after death.
So let's understand that this life is a training ground for the life God wants to give us.

Death also teaches us, that there is somebody who exists, who owns our lives, and we do not live by ourselves but we live because God allows us to live. That's why I have only pity for those who do not understand this, that it is not by our own strength or by our might that we are alive today. The life of a man, no matter his status in life is in his nostrils, take that breath away for some few seconds and he's dead.

These two scriptures throw more light;

Acts 17:28 says, For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

And

Ecclesiastes 8:8 says, There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

We are helpless against God's awesome power and we can't question Him on His actions because He doeth everything right.

Death teaches us that, there will be judgement, we face judgement as we face death inevitably, we inevitably also will face the judgment seat of God come the day of judgement. This alone should make us live a deliberate lifestyle, considering each day an opportunity to live His Will, knowing that we will surely be accountable to The Creator of Heaven and Earth.

We should make each day we live count for His Kingdom.

Proverbs 10:27 says, The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
