I really think it might be wise for us to join the National Trust next year when we come over. I think we've missed out on a lot of cool histories via places like this because we have baulked at the cost.

Still, just looking at the prices for membership online, I doubt we will - it's very, very expensive for us! I'd want to map out enough NT places for us to see and make sure we see them, and we never do that kind of trip. Another example of how freaking expensive it is just to visit the UK - and now they're charging me an extra 20 quid to get in the country! Sigh.
