The way the government leapt to lie about what happened when everyone could see it on video immediately afterwards (of course there's been fake videos since, and that fake rap sheet of Good too I think) was just so bizarre that I hesitate to call it Orwellian because it's such an overused cliche. In an ideal world, the government would say: 'we don't support such behaviour from our agents and there will be a full investigation into this, and we'll do better', but they had to double down and excuse it. Then it seemed to be about justifying ICE - we need this because immigrants are killing our own and worse.

Obviously, something needed to be done about illegal immigrants, but this seems to have gone too far, and having a gestapo like force scaring the shit out of ordinary American citizens seems to be just another chapter in the dystopia of America, if not the world.

I don't understand any justification of her murder - it was a point blank shooting directly at her face/head. I've read a lot of things about why Good shouldn't have been there, shouldn't have aimed the car at him, what did she expect blah blah blah - but I can't see any justification for her murder whatsoever, let alone any character assanitionas (she deserved it!) or for that matter 'he was a good person/father' - therefore let's excuse him. At the very least, it's a problem with training and who they hire. I also applaud people who 'get in the way' of things they believe to be deeply morally wrong. Saying she shouldn't have been getting in the way is limiting her right to fight against something she, and many others, find deeply, deeply disturbing. We need people to stand up for what they believe in. Being shot for doing just that is fucking awful. We're quick to demonise places like China for running people over with tanks but oof, when it happens in the west? Hell, stay at home, believe in your government, and say nothing, lest you have a very, very bad day.
