I can imagine the decision to allow scientists to mess with their beloved's brain would be clouded by emotion - an awful lot of wishful thinking, let alone cultural beliefs. I would much prefer it was left to the doner before death - so legally, it's up to ME if my brain is used for anything, when I'm lucid and aware of what I'm signing myself up for. I definitely don't want to be a brain in a jar.
