According to our current model of the solar system, Mars is a mysterious planet, with a curious geology. Valles Marineris, a massive canyon stretching three quarters across its surface, which our Grand Canyon pales in comparison, has no explanation. The only idea fathomable to the current main stream scientific community is erosion. An unsubstantiated claim, considering, no large bodies of water exist on the planet (other then in ice at the poles, and small quantities of vapour). Other strange anomalies include: finding the mineral tridymite, which only forms at extremely high temperatures. The only explanation given for this is vulcanism, however, Mars also shows no signs of plate tech-tonics.
If one puts the theory of vulcanism and erosion aside for a moment, and allows for the possibility of huge electrical discharges between planets, explanations for tridymite become more credible. Valles Marineris seems to make more sense as well; the dendritic patterns which litter the surface of the Red Planet can be understood better using the Electric model of the solar system. Our current thoery relies on wind and water erosion; this has to be reconsidered. The amount of time required to remove that volume of material by wind and water erosion alone, is unimaginable. We have to start taking experimnetally backed science seriously if we are going to make sense of the cosmos.
Let me propose to you the idea of an electric universe. If the solar system is indeed electric, these massive planets and bodies will have electric charge. If there is a possibility that our solar system at one point, was unstable, with planets making close approaches to other planets, there would be huge electric discharges exchanged.
The people working at the Thunderbolts project are the ones leading the charge with the Electric Universe model. It's truly ground breaking science, with much laboratory evidence used to support their claims.
