I don't think everyone has it. I have zero authoritarian urges in my bones; could be upbringing, or could be brain type, or both.
I believe in people, and their ability to run their own lives, and make their own informed choices.
I'm so libertarian in regards to authoratarianism, I happily accept if people want to live their lives in authoritarian rule, as long as it is consensual, and they don't force others into it. I think blockchain technologies will eventually lead to a "multi-state", where multiple states occupy the same geography and you can freely choose which system you want to associate with.
I think a lot of people do have the mentality though of "I have(choose) to follow the rules (and am burdened by it), so therefore you have to also". And they see the rules as stringent unbending things, not to be broken or ignored. Perhaps for some, rules are the framework which help them ground their reality and sense of being in the agent:arena complex.
