This construction work was started by Maharana Amar Singh in 1551 and continued its work till Maharana Karan Singh (1620-1628). And its full work was done by Maharana Jagatsingh (1628-1652). Due to this the name of this palace is Jagat Mandir or Jag Mandir.

जग मंदिर पैलेस - उदयपुर
इस निर्माण कार्य 1551 में महाराणा अमर सिंह ने शुरू करवाया था तथा महाराणा करण सिंह (1620-1628) तक ने इसका कार्य जारी रखा। और इसका पूर्ण कार्य महाराणा जगतसिंह ने (1628-1652) में करवाया। इस कारण इस पैलेस का नाम जगत मंदिर या जग मंदिर है।
