The opening ad was hilarious. Sadly, the friends I have met in my life are very much like those described in the video. I accept them as they are. The truth though, that in dire times, these people aren't as "stupid" as some would have us believe. Having lived through multiple "world ending events" (we call them hurricanes, where we lost power for weeks or even months at a time), I know that people are in the largest majority are quite good. The ablest find the disabled or lesser-abled and helped them. There is no "mad max" - that's a construct, presented to scare us into submission to authority. If electronics were to be permanently disabled to ALL (not just to the proletariat),, it would be the best thing that ever happened to humanity. I live in a multi-racial city - we have survived many "world ending disasters" (Katrina and Ida, most lately) and I have seen nothing but what little racial bias that does exist (which is always wildly exaggerated) disappear and those who are able helping the less abled. If anything, the loss of power forces everyone to go outside and meet their neighbours. What I fear is that those who are evil to set up a fake "disaster" in which the proles are deprived of power, but the power necessary to control the proels continues to exist. That's the true worry. If anything, we need to know a way to end power altogether and ensure that if electric power is somehow disabled that it is diabled completely.
